Juuyo Moooi

Italian designer Lorenza Bozzoli created the Juuyo pendant light for the Moooi brand with the purpose of bringing the allure of traditional Oriental culture into the 21st century.

The silhouette of the lamp is reminiscent of the hairdo worn by Geisha, the traditional Japanese ladies whose role it was to amuse the elite. The word "Juuyo" alludes to a position similar to that of the Geisha which dates back even further in time.

The lamp has a delicate, poetic, and exquisite appearance and can accommodate an incandescent light source. Having been crafted from glazed porcelain, it exudes the exotic allure of a woman from the east.

The interior of the Juuyo is ornamented with a depiction of a peach blossom or a koi carp, while the exterior of the Juuyo is white in color.
