Xi Poltrona Frau

The Xi Lamp, created by Neri & Hu for brand Poltrona Frau, takes inspiration from Chinese culture. Xi means “light of dawn” or “praise of wisdom”. All versions of the lamp (the suspended one, the floor one, the table one) are meant to communicate a positive and almost mystical concept, the concept of light seen as beginning, birth and rebirth.

The body of the lamp, with a lantern shape, combines saddle leather and blown glass. The upper part of the glass body is characterised by a ribbed processing and it can have an amber, emerald, sapphire or moonstone colour. The lower part is white with a pearl finish. Every glass element is carefully handmade by venetian glass masters: the high level craftsmanship makes every unit of the Xi Lamp a unique piece.
