Gibellina | Nuda Baxter

The 2018 Gibellina coffee table, designed by Antonino Sciortino for the Baxter line, has become a design icon. Thanks to its intricate yet practical aesthetic.

The coffee table's frame is made from galvanized metal rod that has been given a matt black finish. Rigid and geometric graphic lines and patterns are used to partition the area, drawing a circular base section in which the filled and empty sections alternate to create a sense of rhythm and movement across the entire piece of furniture. The metal Gibellina coffee table seen here features a circular base with a solid, rather than hollow, center and the basic lines that form its supporting structure.

The Gibellina coffee table is a representation of the desire to find harmony between the objects of daily life and the environment in which they are placed.
