Japanese architect Kazuhide Takahama was inspired by the works of Djuna Barnes to create the W61 Djuna coffee table for Cassina.
The design of this classic piece of furniture is characterized by a high level of elegance and refinement. Elevating the top support surface are the basic geometries and clean lines of the supporting structure. Chromed steel tubing is folded in order to create inserts for the top and two semi-arches that serve as the basis of the structure. The elliptical top is often finished in marble, or it can be painted in a version that is glossy or matt mirrored. These three options combine beautifully with the steel structure.
The coffee table comes to life in space with an authentic and understated elegance, much like the author Barnes' imaginative and symbolic nature, who creates genuine works of art in the field of fiction.
