In order to harmonise with its surroundings, the Elios coffee table presents itself as a symbolic item of everyday life. Antonio Citterio created this coffee table for Maxalto.
The Elios coffee table can be purchased in two distinct variations, each having a top shape of either square, round, or oval. Given that it's based on basic geometric shapes, the coffee table can take on any look you want. In the square-topped variant, the varying heights of the base structure permit the construction of multiple supporting elements, fostering an atmosphere of conversation and unity among the various rooms and objects. In this version, the tabletop is made of tempered glass.
The supporting structure in the version with a round or oval top and a solid wood finish divides the spaces with essential and strict lines, drawing a circular base section whose area is not hollow but full, and providing a remarkable rhythmic and dynamic sense through the alternating full and empty spaces.
