Le Corbusier designed the LC16 desk for Cassina with the intention of incorporating it into the Unités d'Habitation in Nantes-Rezé for the children. The iconic workstation is defined by the striking juxtaposition of a variety of geometric forms.
The geometric framework of the decorative accent creates storage containers with permanent shelves and an extra support surface propped up by a leg with a cylindrical portion. This configuration was planned to make the desk sturdy and dependable while also facilitating effective space administration.
The horizontal plane is compact to complement the lightness provided by the tubular base piece. The honeycomb-fir oak veneered framework can be treated in two different ways: with either painted or natural anodized metal.
The LC16 desk is designed with ergonomics in mind to provide a high level of comfort and style.
