W70 Les Grands Trans-parents Cassina

Brand: Cassina

Product category: Cassina Mirrors

Designer: Man Ray

Availability: On request

In 1938, the artist Man Ray came up with the concept for the Les Grands Trans-Parents mirror, and in 1971, Simon Gavina revived it for the brand Cassina.

A strong polyurethane base that has been finished in black supports the elliptical mirror that is mounted on clear float glass. The mirror is 181 x 91 x 4 cm and has the uniqueness of being screen-printed on the surface with a play on words that can be translated into "Large" and "Transparent". Art and design are fused by the creator, who takes a surrealist object and makes it into functional furniture.
