The 056 Capitol Complex table, which is part of the Cassina collection and was designed as a tribute to the designer Pierre Jeanneret, is the product of research into the utilization of basic materials that are indispensable in day-to-day living.

The use of two distinct materials—glass for the surface that it rests on and solid wood for the structure—provides this piece of furniture with the iconic rigor that makes it so distinctive. The latter is composed of two open, triangular-shaped pieces that are connected to make a structure that is both practical and aesthetically sound. The first piece acts as a pedestal for the rectangular glass top, while the second piece underpins the whole bench.

In light of its unmistakable craftsmanship, Cassina has re-edited this iconic piece of furniture. However, they have remained true to the aesthetic and functional rigor that the Capitol Complex has maintained over the years.
