Indochine Chaise Longue Cassina

Indochine is a chaise longue by Cassina, designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1943, an icon of modern design. Created during her tenure as Director of Craftsmanship in Indochina and a period of personal hardship, the chaise longue was conceived to provide practical and comfortable seating, equipped with armrests for reading, drawing, and writing. The first prototype, crafted in rattan due to the steel shortage during the Pacific War, inspired the current version in painted tubular metal.

The structure stands out for its three interconnected curved elements, forming a fluid and aerodynamic silhouette. Comfort is ensured by elastic straps supporting the seat, a quilted cushion made of recycled PET fiber, and integrated armrests. Ideal for living spaces or elegant studios, it seamlessly combines timeless aesthetics and functionality.
