Description

The Maralunga armchair that Vico Magistretti designed for Cassina is often cited as a prime example of Italian design at its finest. Maralunga is a timeless piece of furniture that marks Magistretti's unending exploration of design history, design culture, and the endless exploration of new materials and space solutions.

Adjusting the backrest is as simple as inserting a bike chain into the padding and moving it up or down to suit one's needs. Each and every seat in the Maralunga family is distinguished by Cassina's patented scheme. The Maralunga armchair, which was awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 1979, also features a matching pouf that can be purchased separately.

The padding is a polyurethane foam of varying densities, and the frame is tubular and supported by elastic belts. Each individual seat's backrest may be folded down, and a variety of leathers and fabrics from the Cassina line can be used for the upholstery.
