Volage EX-S Coffee Table Cassina

Philippe Starck is credited for the design of the Volage EX-S coffee table for Cassina, which is a reinvention of the traditional coffee table.
With this new approach to seating's design, the coffee table is the room's focal point and main attraction, assuming the qualities of a timeless object that can meet any and all requirements.

The support surface features rounded edges and is finished in a wide choice of marbles to give it a sophisticated appearance. An additional top, which is practical for the positioning of magazines and other things, is supported by an aluminium base that is smaller than the top that is directly above it.

Philippe Starck's approach to "democratic design" eschews the formal stylistic elements typically associated with high design in favour of a simpler and more approachable aesthetic.
