Philippe Starck's design for Flos's In Vitro Unplugged outdoor lamp is a triumph of form and eclecticism, achieving the ideal synthesis of these traits while maintaining a natural and refined beauty.

The aluminium body of this lamp has a ring at the top where an opal diffuser can be found. Light-emitting diode (LED) sources combined with Edge Lighting technology dilute the light so that it is not flashing strobe.

The translucent borosilicate glass that serves as protection is elevated in comparison to the circular part that serves as the base of the aluminium body. The lamp's upper handle makes it simple to carry. There is a dimmer for adjusting the brightness of the light on the lamp's head, and the lamp itself is rechargeable through a USB-C cord.
