The Coppélia Suspended Pendant Lamp is opulent and ethereal in design. The creation is by Japanese-born designer Arihiro Miyake and is inspired by the character after whom the ballet Coppélia is named, a splendid-looking female figure who is actually not a woman but a mechanical doll.
The majestic modern interpretation of the traditional candelabra form that Coppélia represents is made possible by her structure, which is composed of three levels and is made feasible by the intricate interweaving of polycarbonate wires. The smaller version of Coppélia comes in black and features 36 LED light sources within its circular framework. The diameter of the smaller version is 69 cm. The large version, which is available in either black or chrome and is 1 m in diameter, features 54 individual light sources.
