Baxter Furnishings in Downtown Amsterdam

On 12 October, Baxter celebrated the opening of a new showroom in Amsterdam, located in a lovely old building right in the heart of the city.

Created with the intention of revitalising a place that in 1940s was a prestigious fashion atelier, the store's building project involved simply renovating the original spaces instead of changing them.

In fact, the goal was to preserve the building, which they succeeded in doing, and maintain intact the typical characteristics of the classic Dutch building in Gothic style.

The showroom is laid out on three floors. The ground floor is reserved for the shop windows, the walls decorated with large bright coloured decorations that are perfectly coordinated with the leathers selected for the padded furniture.

Turquoise, antique blue and cognac are the main colours, and the main piece featured is Chester Moon, Baxter's most prominent icon.

The first floor can be reached by a small staircase, where there is a cosy space dedicated to bedroom furniture, decorated with stunning boiserie panelling that matches the room's classic style perfectly.

Lastly, another staircase connects this floor with the third environment, located in the basement of the building, which has been divided into two areas: living room and dining room furniture.

Lighter colours make the space brighter: they use "greige" - a unique in-between shade of grey and beige - and moss green, both matched with other wall decorations.

The result is a contemporary space that reflects the Baxter world, from its guidelines to its corporate style, wall decorations and choice of materials.

They did a great job on this showroom, and it only confirms how much Baxter cares about expressing its mission through its furnishings and presentations.
