The collection of lamps by Verpan consists of many iconic models that have made design history through their designer’s extra-ordinary creativity. Verner Panton (1926-1998) was an artist with an impressive, inspiring and colourful personality that is responsible for most of Verpan’s solutions.
It was his incredible sense of colour, shape and function of light and space in rooms that produced several models of lamps - mainly in the 1970s and 1980s - that became timeless icons of the history of design.
Among these, we would like to present the VP Globe suspension lamp (1969), which is still one of the brand’s most acclaimed products - even though it was launched half a century ago.
VP Globe is round an smooth, a suspension lamp that conveys the idea of a precious, exclusive pendant on a necklace that irradiates brilliance and glittering light.
The body of the lamp is a transparent acrylic sphere with hand-polished aluminium reflectors inside it. When turned on, the reflectors fill the room with dazzling plays of light that can make any room unique.
One of the furnishing projects where this precious lamp was used is at the prestigious Café Stiften, a comfortable coffee shop in the centre of Aarhus, (Denmark) known as the best place in town to enjoy fabulous fruit juices, smoothies, shakes, bagels, sandwiches and salads.
