Telar, the outdoor seating collection made with hand-woven upholstery for Paola Lenti by Lina Obregòn, has won the Red Dot Award Best of the Best 2020. The collection includes a chair that can be with or without armrests, an armchair, a chaise longue and a pouf. It’s the perfect collection to furnish any type of outdoor space complete and exclusively.
Telar was selected by a jury of international experts for its excellent quality and its craftsmanship. Furthermore, the award was assigned for the particular interpretation given to the upholstery material, designed by Paola Lenti exclusively for this project and naturally resistant to weather and damage over time.
The main feature of the various elements in the collection is the hand woven upholstery that covers the furniture, a combination of tension and elasticity. The result is a surface with a double curvature similar to tensile structures where open weaves replace traditional padding to make the seats much lighter and easy to move.
This award is yet another confirmation of Paola Lenti’s unquestionable leadership in the outdoor furniture sector, an honour of the great commitment that the company has undertaken since 2002 to create functional furniture that has an aesthetic impact from patented materials.
The official awards ceremony will take place at the Alvar Aalto Theater in Essen on 22 June of this year.
