Hubble Bubble: the Suspension Lamp by Moooi

Hubble Bubble is a light, playful suspension lamp designed by Moooi to add a refined touch of brightness and character to any room.

It was created when the famous Dutch designer Marcel Wanders began playing with the circumferences of suspended glass spheres set delicately against a splendid metal ring. These light, delicate objects form luminous bubbles that appear to float in the air. Wanders explains: “Hubble Bubble captures those carefree moments of my childhood when I played with soap bubbles and watched them float off into the sky.”

The blown glass spheres are available in different finishes: frosted glass or transparent iridescent glass in two sizes. Lamps can have 7 or 11 spheres arranged in a horizontal or vertical configuration.

The steel ring acts as a conductor for the electrical current using Moooi’s patented Electrosandwich technology, which eliminates ugly wiring and allows the lamp to have an essential, clean look.
