Leda Low Table-Sculpture by BD Barcelona Design
Once again, the brand BD Barcelona Design has amazed us with its fusion of art and evocative design. The proof is the Leda table-sculpture, inspired by a drawing in the painting "Femme à tête de roses” by Salvator Dalì (1935-37).
It is surprising how this table looks just like the one in the painting, using bronze for the structure and marble for the details.
Like the matching Leda chairs, Dalì used parts of the body as the arms and legs to give these supporting elements a surreal look. The form of an egg in Carrara marble is significant because it was one of Dalì’s favourite symbols.
The polished brass feet have a varnished finish and the top is in nuanced, varnished brass.
The Leda table also comes in a limited edition black version, for which the dark parts are obtained through a long artisan process.
