The 01 CHAIR by Cappellini & Kuramata

The Cappellini brand is now offering the splendid 01 Chair, which was designed as a tribute to the 1980s. The chair was drawn in that decade and it is a memento of a profitable collaboration with the designer Shiro Kuramata, who passed in 1991.

Chair 01 offers super-light volumes with a series of interlocking lines and arches that fit together to form a sinuous pattern.

Its structure is made completely from charcoal-coloured polished chrome metal (or with a matte painted finish, if requested). The chair is surprisingly robust and lightweight.

The seat upholstery is fixed, and can be selected from Cappellini’s vast catalogue of fine leathers.

The creator of the 01 Chair, Shiro Kuramata, was one of the most famous international designers from Japan and the best at interpreting Cappellini’s modern research through meaningful products and objects that are still best-sellers.
