Cassina's Chandigarh Collection Wins Edida 2021
For the 2021 edition of the Elle Decoration International Design Awards, the Chandigarh Collection by Cassina won in the “Tableware” category. It is the brand’s first tableware collection.
This series has a strong aesthetic impact and a decisively historical personality. It was made in collaboration with Ginori and the Le Corbusier Foundation.
These elegant and essential pieces were inspired by the talent of Le Corbusier. The collection includes three trays in different shapes (square, round and rectangular) made of white matt porcelain bisque.
Cassina’s award-winning creations bear a few bas-relief symbols from the buildings in Chandigarh, the city designed by Le Corbusier in the 1950s, and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The splendid details are simple but demonstrative: an open hand symbolizing peace, a fish, and the arc of the sun in the sky.
