Venus by Driade at MART in Rovereto

The exhibition “Canova, tra innocenza e peccato” (Canova: Innocence and Sin) at MART in Rovereto, Trento features Venus by Driade, which was designed by Fabio Novembre.

This splendid exhibition of works by the neoclassical sculptor Canova will be open until 18 April 2022 and the beautiful Venus bookcase is on display in the museum hall. Vittorio Sgarbi had the idea for this combination of topics, which is an innovative way of commemorating the bicentenary of Canova’s death. Including the Venus bookcase at MART means suggesting an exhibition itinerary populated with official and heretical interpreters, formed from ancient and modern connections that never lose their style, even if they are critical.

Mr. Novembre was inspired by the wooden crates that museums use to transport statues, which he transformed from containers of design to playful poetic objects.
