The Up Series by B&B Italia Wins XXVII Compasso d'Oro ADI

The iconic UP series by Gaetano Pesce and B&B Italia has won the XXVII Compasso d’Oro ADI 2022 in the section “Career Awards 2022”.

This important award is the most significant in the field of Italian industrial design, and the jury gave the following motivation for their choice: “The perfect synthesis of technological experimentation and formal research, this armchair is a poetic tribute to the complex interaction of the female body within different socio-cultural contexts. The product has always represented a vision of the civil use of design.”

In fact, the Up series has been raising awareness for 50 years. With its revolutionary anthropomorphic shapes, these chairs are just as extremely current and sophisticated now as they were back then.

Starting in 2019, the year of their 50th anniversary, B&B Italia began investing in technology to increase the production capacity of the brand’s best-selling armchair.
