BD Design Barcelona is presenting the irreverent armchair Gaulino in a limited edition series of 50 unique pieces. The seat has been painted with a tiger-stripe pattern by the talented Oscar Tusquets.
This edition celebrates both the 50th anniversary of BD and the Year of the Tiger in Asia. Even though it was originally designed to be used with a table, the new version can also be featured in very distinctive lounge corner.
This chair gives the impression that it is very light, but its structure is actually quite strong and surprisingly comfortable. The limited edition is therefore a more robust version, but it still communicates the aesthetic tradition derived from Gaudí and Mollino, and now it is included in the Art Editions catalogue.
This is not the first time that Tusquets personalizes the seat of a chair for this collection. Several years ago, he painted 20 unique pieces and signed and numbered them all personally.
