Gustave: the Rechargeable, Portable Table Lamp by Flos
Internationally acclaimed architect Vincent Van Duysen has created a new portable lamp with an autonomous power supply. It’s called Gustave. Designed specifically for extra light at a table, this lamp displays a combination of lighting and engineering technology to illumine a broad surface extending up to one meter from the light source. The light forms a ring with a shadow in the centre. Gustave is a modern companion, ideal for placement at the centre of a table during dinner.
It’s fun because it’s portable. The autonomous power supply was specifically designed for providing light to a table and for other similar uses as an auxiliary lamp. Reduced dimensions make Gustave the perfect mix of optical-lighting technology and innovative sustainability. Flos has now introduced the first portable lamp with a circular shape: ecological and created to fight the trend of obsolescence that is so common these days. It’s iconic and durable, with an interesting tactile ON-OFF button and a USB charging cable.
