Oltralpe by Glas Italia Wins Archiproducts Design Awards 2022

The Oltralpe cabinet, designed by Inga Sempé, has won the “Furniture” category in the Archiproducts Design Awards 2022, the prestigious awards programme that is now in its seventh edition.

For the Glas Italia 2022 collection, Sempé created the Oltralpe collection in a special crystal with a mirrored finish both inside and outside. The softly curved doors produce undefined fluctuating reflections that make the surface appear vague and almost liquid in appearance.

The particular effect is produced by the special mirrored crystal shaped in an arched, smoothly curved form. The 6mm laminated crystal structure is completely mirrored inside and out. The doors are also curved and have a mirrored finish on both sides of the tempered crystal glass. They stand out for the distorted and non-defined reflections that are produced, which make the material ethereal and difficult to grasp. The doors open with cylindrical crystal handles and have Blumotion shock absorbing closures.
