Jumbo Collection: Victorian-era Inspired Carved Draping Decorations

The Lace collection from Jumbo Collection celebrates the art of carving: an exquisite artisan process carried out by expert craftsmen.

The main element is the distinctive decorative draping motif in the Lace collection, a line of furniture inspired by curtains and ornamental fabrics from the aristocratic courts of the Victorian era. Combining the art of wood carving with cabinetry, the theme of drapes was inspired by the soft decorative lines of fabrics used then as ornamental elements. These carvings become sumptuous decorations for furniture in the entire series. After the decoration is carved, it can be finished in gold leaf and enhanced with hand-made flowers.

Created as an inspiration for a unique mirror, the idea of the “curtain effect” applied to furniture was extended to cabinets, tables, and bedroom furniture, resulting in the creation of an entire collection. Then, the company started applying the decoration to tables and bookshelves to give them a regal, scenographic look that expresses the baroque style in an original and elegant way.
