Table or Sculpture? Miya by Cappellini

Designer Elena Salmistraro has crafted a sculptural table for the new Cappellini collection: Miya is a coffee table made using a magical game of overlapping elements.

The designer reveals her intent: she wanted to create a collection of service tables inspired by the armour of famous Japanese samurai. However, the design process brought about a completely different interpretation that looks more like a flower than a suit of armour. The final result is a small table with a scenic presence, made from a large transparent glass barrel that holds a smaller structure in coloured blown glass and a top in extralight crystal plate.

The different colour combinations create many different outcomes ranging from cobalt blue to emerald green.

Available in two heights and sizes, Miya represents the creativity of Elena Salmistraro and respect for sustainable materials. It is suitable for different architectural contexts.
