Italian Winners of NYCxDesign Award 2023

One of the Italian brands that took centre stage at the NYCxDesign Award 2023 is the brand Paola Lenti with Metamorfosi, a collection designed by the brothers Fernando and Humberto Campana, in the category “Environmental Impact”. One-of-a-kind pieces made of creatively reused leftover production materials: scraps of fabric, cords made of technical yarns, fabric remnants, and selvedge were used to make five chairs and a tapestry that are both design pieces and works of art.

Inspired by the shapes and mutations of nature, Metamorfosi was designed to avoid waste and reduce the use of raw materials. These processes fit into the corporate philosophy, which has always been oriented towards sustainability and safeguarding the planet.

Out of 442 nominations, Cindy Allen, her team, and the jury Woody & Mia pouf and table by Giorgetti as the winner. These two distinct products share a magic balance between form and function: Mia’s corners show an expertly crafted curved groove that matches the same feature on Woody.
