A Tribute to Nature and Ancient Craftsmanship: Agave by Barovier&Toso
An interaction between art and nature comes to life in Agave, the new light creation by Barovier&Toso designed by García Cumini. Inspired by the Mediterranean agave plant, this luminaire conveys its elegance through a modular structure that holds glass elements made using the “vetro rugiada” technique. This particular process, which derives from the Murano tradition, gives the surface a vibrant, irregular effect that produces interesting light refractions.
As the light filters through the glass, its gentle diffusion recalls the atmosphere created by the sun's rays filtering through the leaves of the agave. This perfect balance of innovation and craftsmanship enhances the value of Venetian plate glass, which is enhanced with colour nuances that amplify the material appeal of the lamp.
Agave is an expression of a refined combination of tradition and modernity. Its debut at the Salone del Mobile 2025 reaffirms Barovier&Toso's role in aesthetics and technical experimentation as applied to modern high-end lighting design.
