Pioneers of Sustainable Design: Andreu World Turns 70
This year marks a milestone for Andreu World, a Spanish company that has been producing wooden chairs and tables with an ethical, innovation-oriented approach.
Founded in 1955 near Valencia, on the initiative of Francisco Andreu, the company took its first steps as a carpentry workshop, and then evolved into a globally recognized furniture production company. Despite international expansion, Mediterranean identity and family management remain at the heart of the company's philosophy. Today, the brand is active in over 90 countries, with many showrooms and high-profile collaborations.
In an increasingly fast world that is ever more dedicated to commerce, this brand was the first company in the sector to have obtained the FSC 100% certification dedicating almost all its production processes to the use of wood.
Andreu World adopts responsible practices throughout the production chain and the commitment to sustainability is also reflected today in the development of innovative materials like BIO®, organic polymers, Pure ECO®, fully recycled and recyclable plastics, and Circular ONE®, textiles created from textile waste and PET bottles.
For its anniversary, the company is presenting the chair Bolete, which combines soft lines and ergonomics in a shell made of Pure ECO®.
