Table Monta by Cassina: Bridging Design Heritage and Material Exploration
Table Monta by Cassina, featured in the iMaestri Collection and designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1970, embodies a harmonious blend of formal design exploration and fine wood craftsmanship. Reissued in 2023, the table stems from a project initially conceived for the designer’s own home and was developed in close collaboration with her daughter, Pernette Perriand-Barsac.

The structure stands out for its balance of rigour and softness: two elliptical legs support an oval top with fluid lines, crafted through a complex construction process. The outer ring is formed by eight symmetrically joined segments, which surround a central marble slab, creating a striking visual and tactile presence.

The table is offered in a single size and comes in two versions. The first is a limited edition of thirty pieces, preserving the original finishes, with a base in solid natural walnut and a top in Azul Bahia granite, renowned for its deep blue tones. The second presents a contemporary reimagining, with a structure in black-stained solid ash paired with a marble top, while retaining the essence of the original design.
