B&B Italia at the Metafisica/Metafisiche 1909-2026 Exhibition in Milan

B&B Italia appears in the exhibition Metafisica/Metafisiche 1909-2026 with the film Camaleonda: tribute to Giorgio De Chirico, directed by Mauro Seresini in 2020 for the reissue of the Camaleonda seating system, designed by Mauro Bellini in 1970. The cinematic work establishes a visual dialogue between design and metaphysical painting, evoking disquieting perspectives and enigmatic settings.

The exhibition, held at Palazzo Reale from 28 January to 21 June 2026, is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Municipality of Milan, and forms part of the cultural programme of Milano Cortina 2026. The exhibition narrative explores the origins of Metaphysical Art through key figures such as Giorgio de Chirico, and extends to its later European and American reinterpretations.

The Camaleonda sofa takes centre stage: a modular model that has marked the history of contemporary furniture thanks to its sectional structure, defined by combinable elements and a system of cords and rings that shape its formal identity. Its flexible configuration allows for multiple combinations, anticipating a dynamic conception of both domestic and shared spaces.
