Dafne by Frigerio: A Modernist-Inspired Armchair

The Dafne armchair by Frigerio, designed by Gordon Guillaumier, is a contemporary reinterpretation of the great classics of modernism, defined by generous volumes and an understated yet functional aesthetic. Unveiled at Salone del Mobile 2026, it is part of the Metamorphosis Collection, a project that explores historical memory and the dialogue between different eras.

Its clean lines and refined detailing make Dafne highly versatile: ideal for residential living spaces and equally suited to contract environments and lounge areas. The aluminium star base supports an upholstered body that combines elegance and long-lasting comfort, while the backrest, armrests and seat—defined by rectangular forms with rounded edges—soften the design’s rigour. The armchair is available in swivel and reclining versions, upholstered in leather or fabric, and conceived for prolonged use while retaining its striking presence.

Guillaumier’s design engages with the work of designers Calvi Brambilla and Moreno Vannini, revisiting design tradition with a contemporary sensibility. Dafne by Frigerio thus becomes a sculptural piece, capable of blending heritage and innovation, transforming any space into a domestic stage where past and future coexist harmoniously.
