Archibald Delicate Balance: Poltrona Frau's Icon Meets Art

Poltrona Frau reimagines one of its most iconic creations with the Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition, a special edition of the celebrated armchair designed by Jean-Marie Massaud in 2009.

Long regarded as a symbol of refined elegance and enveloping comfort, Archibald takes on a new dimension through the artistic vision of Shepard Fairey, one of the most influential figures in contemporary street art, in a project that explores the delicate relationship between humanity and nature.

Fairey's artwork transforms the armchair into a richly symbolic visual narrative, bringing together the distinctive elements of his iconic visual language. At the heart of the composition is a female figure representing Mother Nature, surrounded by flowers and birds that evoke the cycles of life and the fragility of ecological balance.

The armchair is upholstered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere Impact Less leather, produced using tanning processes designed to reduce environmental impact and sourced from tanneries holding Gold certification from the Leather Working Group.

The initiative goes beyond the product itself through a partnership with Treedom. For every Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition sold, two coffee trees are planted in Guatemala, supporting a community of 80 Indigenous women while fostering fairer and more sustainable economic opportunities.
