Ardys, the Concrete Low Tables Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina

Ardys, the new collection of low tables designed by Patricia Urquiola for Cassina, combines the solidity of concrete with the softness of upholstered furniture. The design is distinguished by a strong architectural character, softened by rounded corners and glossy-finish surfaces that enhance its sculptural presence.

Made from glossy lacquered concrete, the low tables are produced using construction techniques reinterpreted by Cassina’s Research and Development Centre through an artisanal approach. The top and base are shaped by pouring a special cement mortar into traditional formwork, selected to leave subtle marks and ripples on the surface, transformed into distinctive features of the design.

After a slow drying process, the material undergoes a complex finishing treatment and final polishing, which also helps protect it from micro-scratches.

Available as freestanding low tables or as elements that can be integrated into the sofa system, Ardys offers a versatile solution: the upholstered base supports the concrete top, creating an independent module that can be easily repositioned within the composition.
