Akiko by Gallotti & Radice Wins German Awards 2023

A padded chair by Gallotti&Radice, designed by Oscar and Gabriele Buratti, has won the German Design Awards 2023 in the category "Excellent Product Design Furniture". This chair could be placed in any room. The jury rewarded it for its generous, rounded backrest that looks like it could embrace someone. Akiko’s design is inspired by Asian tradition. Its thickly padded volumes and curved lines create a comfortable and restful experience.

Akiko consists of a circle for the seat and a semi-circle for the backrest and armrest area. These shapes are supported by a metal base. This chair is available in fabric or leather, in the colour warm grey.

Akiko’s enveloping design was also featured in the 2023 collection in a new swivel model and a new lounge model.
