The iconic BD Barcelona's Hypostila System

BD Barcelona's Hypostila system was designed in 1979 by Lluís Clotet and Oscar Tusquets to create a shelving system that would support significant amounts of weight on minimal profiles, and that features infinite lengths and configurations.

Hypostila is built using extruded aluminium profiles to which columns can be added to furnish different spaces. This versatile system has shelves that can be fixed at any height to meet different needs.

Hypostila is more than just a modular shelving system, it is a piece of design history where Spanish architects Clotet and Tusquets partnered with civil engineer Jesús Jiménez. It won the Golden and Delta Awards in 1980 and is still a modern solution for homes and offices.

The shelves and vertical supports can be cut to measure based on customer needs.
