522 Tokyo Chaise Longue Cassina

Brand: Cassina

Product category: Cassina Chaise Longue

Designer: Charlotte Perriand

Availability: On request

The 522 Tokyo Chaise Longue chair, which Charlotte Perriand developed in 1940 during her stay in Japan and went into production in 2011, is a style icon for its efficient and elegant design.

The armchair has become a design symbol thanks to its supple, sinuous lines and high-quality materials, which leave it flexible enough to adapt to shifting fashions and trends.

Twelve curving strips follow the body's natural contour to make a single floor of deckchair and seat. The lower structural section is made up of bent wooden pieces that follow the same pattern as the slats up top and are held together with satin brass fasteners.

The seat can be made from either bamboo or teak wood, and both materials are sure to provide the right amount of relaxation and ease.

This exquisite woodwork is proof positive of the high standard set by Cassina's artisanal craftsmanship.
