Xilos Maxalto

For Maxalto, designer Antonio Citterio created the Xilos coffee table, which features a surprising ergonomic form thanks to its unconventional use of shapes and materials.

The round, square, and rectangular variations of the tabletop all contribute to the piece's flexibility and strength as a decorative accent.
The only style of Xilos coffee table available is the one with a round or square top and a wooden cross-support framework. The unusual design of the Xilos coffee table is exemplified by the cross formed by the union of the base elements, which are set at right angles to one another.
A pair of parallel side uprights that slant inward and meet at the floor create the supporting structure of the rectangular top variant.

This famous work of design features tactile and visual refinement, making it both adaptable and useful.
