Opéra: the New Barovier&Toso Collection
The newest addition to the Barovier&Toso brand is called Opéra, created by the French designer Philippe Nigro. This luxurious collection comprises different pendant lamps, sconces and a tabletop version. The designer mentions the eclectic and opulent Opéra Garnier in Paris.
Opéra luminaires are rich in subtle contrasts. Their sumptuous baroque style is softened with minimal details to produce a harmonious, contemporary object that is never redundant.
Nigro used a process called the “rostrato technique”, used by Venetian crystal artisans to make prisms. Barovier&Toso holds the patent for this process: it was invented by Ercole Barovier in 1938.
Along with these prisms, they add a selection of modern metallic lines in trendy, elegant gold, copper and brushed black nickel.
