B&B Italia with Gaetano Pesce in Beijing

The Today Art Museum in Beijing is featuring “Gaetano Pesce: Nobody’s Perfect”, a personal exhibition of the Italian architect, designer and artist, which will be open from 20 March to 30 June 2022.

Visitors are swept into the extravagant and colourful world of furniture: there are 100 iconic projects designed by Mr. Pesce, including the original wooden model of the UP5_6 armchair, created for B&B Italia in 1969.

Outside the museum, guests are welcomed by the “Big Mama” UP5_6, an XL version that has become the symbol of this important exhibition.

This event shows Asia how far ahead of its time B&B Italia was in the field of stylistic research in the ’60s, and how Gaetano Pesce was a pioneer of a unique style that was both playful and sophisticated.
