Brionvega and the Iconic Designer Radiofonografo

Half a century of unique design presented with a smile, just like on the first day. Created in 1965 by the designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, the Brionvega radio phonograph is perfect because it is as unique today as it was back in the day. Its incomparable style emerges with a new definition of sound and the option of turning and moving the speakers to fit the conditions of the surrounding environment.

Needless to say, the Castiglioni brothers were more than worthy of becoming part of the great Italian design canon.
Their design of the controls, the radio frequency scale, the buttons and the potentiometer were innovative, and arranged to form the image of a face with distinct raised eyebrows and speakers where the ears should be.

Beloved by David Bowie, who had a very special version at his house, the radio phonograph was created on the basis of Achille Castiglioni‘s personal conviction that “Objects must keep us company”. Brionvega’s new edition of the Radiofonografo is available today in white, red, orange, and canaletto walnut.
