Lualdi Doors at New MGallery Palazzo Tirso in Cagliari
Following a design from the studio Marco Piva, the MGallery Palazzo Tirso hotel, in the Accor chain, has completed a redevelopment job that witnessed the change in use of a historic building from the 1920s, the ex-headquarters of the Società Elettrica Sarda S.E.S where Lualdi provided all the doors and windows.
The proposed design required strong attention to the pre-existing features to preserve and enhance the value of the original structure using a language of continuity.
Inside the building, it is surprising to find a lovely glass “greenhouse” where the covered part of the Cielo restaurant is located. The rest of the dining area extends onto the terrace with a lounge area, where guests can admire a breathtaking view of the city.
Lualdi has made many solutions for this hotel, from the main doors in the entrance to the doors of the rooms: Filo Rei 60 in a wood finish or matt lacquer finish, Rasomuro with custom handles for the public restrooms on the ground floor, and Sliding 50 on the outside of the wall with hidden motorized double tracks in a splendid burgundy laminated finish on both sides with the door leaf in brushed brill.
