HYDRO: Tom Dixon Limited Edition Aluminium Chair

HYDRO is the new chair by Tom Dixon produced in a limited edition in collaboration with the company Hydro, the main producer of aluminium globally. The lines of the HYDRO chair are formed through a high-temperature blowmoulding process followed by a laser cut process carried out by highly specialized robots.

These methods, originally developed for the car manufacturing industry, make it possible to obtain complex, specifically designed shapes that not long ago were impossible to make. The result is a chair with a “swollen” texture that conveys strength, durability, and a touch of pop irony to its thin metal sheet frame.
