Massimo Bottura's Restaurant Extols the Elegance of Thonet Chairs

The Ristorante "Al Gatto Verde," opened recently by the chef Massimo Bottura near Modena, is an authentic ode to elegance and tradition that features wooden Thonet chairs and the values of eco-sustainable furnishings.

This enchanted place is located in the villa Casa Maria Luigia, surrounded by vineyards and large old oak trees.

The ancient stables have been transformed into a dining room and a kitchen where wood, raffia, and stone in the colours green and beige call attention to the surrounding natural environment to create a serene atmosphere. The Thonet model 118 F chairs, selected in sage green, embody the balance between minimalism and elegance as they guarantee the highest level of comfort. Their design with curved wood armrests and a tilted backrest is a modern evolution of Michael Thonet’s vision, with attention to refined details.

Outside, guests can see tables by Porro lacquered in dark green and yellow, the colours of the ancient 19th century Acetaia where balsamic vinegar is produced.
