Camaleonda, B&B Italia, and Stella McCartney: Design and Sustainability in Harmony
B&B Italia and Stella McCartney have resumed working together to create a project that embodies sustainable luxury. The focus is on Camaleonda, the iconic modular sofa system created by Mario Bellini in 1970 and reissued in 2020. Bellini and his creations are now famous all over the world. He has received the Compasso d'Oro Award eight times and 25 of his works are in the permanent collection of MoMA in New York. But this new special edition represents the perfect union between tradition and innovation, for a more sustainable future made by an elite designer.
It’s a combination of style and ecological commitment
This new version of Camaleonda was shown at our stores during the recent FuoriSalone 2024, upholstered with an exclusive fabric printed with Stella McCartney's S-wave monogram. This pattern was inspired by nature, and it represents the two brands’ shared commitment to circularity and innovation of materials.
Sustainable materials for a better future
Stella McCartney’s version of Camaleonda is made with a new Magnolia fabric with the "S-wave" print, produced by the Research & Development Centre of B&B Italia. This fabric is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold and uses OceanSafe naNea yarn, which is biodegradable and free of harmful substances.
Come and admire it at one of our stores in Milan, or browse online in the Bredaquaranta Spring Sale.
