Tramonto a New York: Limited Edition Sofa by Gaetano Pesce for Cassina

Today, we’re going to talk about another iconic limited edition from the twentieth century. It’s an emblem of Italian vitality, innovation and creativity, and one of its masters, Gaetano Pesce, in “Tramonto a New York”.

This design sofa has been reproduced today with larger dimensions than the original model, in a limited edition series that we have also put on display at our stores. The series features 50 pieces made with sustainable materials, which were developed through the work of Cassina LAB.

This playful limited edition sofa maintains all the expressive power and modernity of the original design, and will become the centrepiece of any room.

The three-seater sofa is made of padded elements that look like skyscrapers upholstered in an exclusive fabric with an embossed texture that combines light and dark to creating the effect of light reflecting on windows.

It contrasts against a sun-shaped element, covered lively red satin, that is setting between the “buildings” that make up the backrest. The structure is made of CARB* certified plywood and elastic straps, and the cushions are made of multi-density rubber with a white coating in recycled PET polyester wadding.
