The Killing of the Piggy Bank Moooi

Brand: Moooi

Product category: Moooi Vases

Designer: Marcel Wanders

Availability: On request

A period marked by the fall of money as a physical thing and the gradual substitution of riches in digital form is represented by The Killing of the Piggy Bank, a piggy bank vase designed by studio Marcel Wanders for the Moooi brand. The artifact depicts the moment before the piggy bank, a symbol of the past, is smashed by a hammer.

It's a special vase with decorative value, and it holds enormous symbolic significance. Produced by Royal Delft, makers of the world-famous Delft ceramics since 1635, this piggy bank pays homage to the timeless form.

This piggy bank was handcrafted in Delft, Netherlands, and is decorated with the signature blue floral motifs found throughout the region's porcelain. The hammer and the pig's eyes both have a golden hue.
