Designer Rodolfo Dordoni created the 476 Boboli coffee table for Cassina.
A polished and harmonious design is exhibited by the coffee table, thanks to the nearly ornamental and architectural structure of the tabletop. The distinctive feature of this famous piece of furniture is the support structure, which is made up of helical pieces. The verticality of these elements is a clear and direct allusion to the vegetation that is typically seen in Italian gardens, and it is also the designer's dedication to the garden that is located in Florence.
The bright and versatile base is complemented beautifully by the variety of tabletop options, which include marble, lacquered glass, and Canaletto walnut. Great energy is created by the contrast between the solidity of the aluminium helical parts and the negative space between them, which is a testament to the artist's superb command of technical means and his/her deft handling of stylistic nuance.
The most up-to-date iterations of the series of circular and oval coffee tables now include rectangular tops as well.
