1919 Armchair expresses nobleness and majesty. It’s no coincidence that, according to some sources, it was designed specifically for Filiberto Ludovico di Savoia, a member of the Italian royal family.
Renzo Frau, the renowned founder of Poltrona Frau, obtained great success with such a design, and 1919, which was originally named “model 128”, became one of the company’s most important icons.
Inspired by the bergère model, the armchair is created with a sophisticated tufting and includes a high and wide backrest and a small plate, which can be positioned to the left or to the right.
Featuring a rubberised horsehair and vegetable horsehair padding, the armchair has a goose down seat cushion. The two front wheels contribute to characterising one of the most elegant icons of Italian design history.
